UAD together with DAAD Germany held the DIES Training Course on Management of Internationalization
DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) entrusted UAD to host the DIES Training Course on Management of Internationalization on 4-8 November 2019. This workshop was also supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, German Rector’s Conference (HRK), Leibniz Universität of Hannover Germany and the 2017 MoI DIES alumni consortium from the University of Indonesia, Syiah Kuala University, Parahyangan University Bandung and Widya Mandala University Surabaya. This training was the second time held in Indonesia, Batch I was held at the Universitas Indonesia in April 2019. The Head of Office of International Affairs of UAD, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res had passed the selection to participate in the MoI DIES in Germany and India. At this regional workshop in Indonesia, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Dyah Arini Perwitasari passed the selection to become the participant.
The Internationalization Management Training was attended by dozens of participants from various universities in Indonesia who passed the selection. The trainers for the event were from Germany, Malaysia and Indonesia with professional experience at the international level. Among the speakers and trainers there were names such as; Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti Nurwardani, M.P. (Director of Learning, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education), Prof. Dato ’Dr. Morshidi bin Sirat from Malaysia (Universiti Sains Malaysia), Dr. Birgit Barden-Läufer (Director of the International Office of the University of Leibniz Hannover Germany), Silke Irmscher (trainer from Germany who has long professional experiences in Indonesia), Prof. Adi Zakaria Afiff (UI), Dr. Edwan Kardena (Head of the ITB International Affairs Office), and representatives from the European Union. This event also brought several speakers from DAAD and alumni who had undergone previous training (UI, Unsyiah, Unpar, UWMS, ULM Banjarmasin, UMY and Unsoed Purwokerto). This training was officially opened by the rector of UAD, Dr. Muchlas, M.T. at the Amphitarium UAD Campus IV which was also attended by the vice rectors, the dean and, the head of study programs . Participants and speakers were invited to enjoy the culture in Yogyakarta with Ramayana Ballet performances and some traditional Indonesian dance performances. According to the head of the committee, Ida Puspita, “UAD is very grateful for the trust of several foreign organizations such as Erasmus + which have passed two project grants for UAD, and this DAAD Germany which appointed UAD as the host of an international workshop on Management of Higher Education Internationalization. . This is one of UAD’s efforts in internationalizing higher education institutions both internally and as the facilitator to other campuses for international activities ”.
